I’m a freelance creative based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. I studied BA Glass and Ceramics at the University of Sunderland based at National Glass Centre, and before that I studied MEng Structural Engineering with Architectural Studies at the University of Sheffield. I have worked with local artists as an exhibition installer, art fabricator, printmaker, research assistant and collaborator; assisted in the development of several academic publications; and occasionally I get chance to make my own work.

My creative practice is currently centred around my AxiDraw pen plotter, a drawing robot that produces outputs somewhere between a handmade print and a digital one. I make digital drawings using Adobe Illustrator which are then fed to the plotter where I can vary the medium they are rendered in - pen and ink, graphite, paint etc. Each drawing is unique in that the interaction between pen and paper varies from plot to plot and different layers have to be registered to align properly.
